Tomorrow’s Tape: Checking Off Time Until Friday
By Paul Vigna
Economics:
We all know the biggest piece of data this week comes Friday, with the jobs report. But tomorrow, whereas we traditionally get ADP’s jobs report to chew on, we don’t even get that. Because of the Memorial Day holiday, ADP decided to hold their report to Thursday. That makes tomorrow especially thin for data.
There’s a trio of lower tier data early on: the weekly MBA mortgage applications survey (7 a.m.), the ICSC-Goldman chain-store sales report, also weekly (7:45), and the Johnson Redbook sales index (8:55).
Pending home-sales index comes at 10 a.m.
There are three Fed speakers: Dallas Fed chieftain Richard Fisher at 1:20 p.m., and the NY Fed’s William Dudley at 1:30. Boston Fed’s Eric Rosengren speaks at 4:30.
