Trump Brings His Nicknames to the U.N.
During the election campaign, Mr. Trump labeled his opponents "Lyin Ted," "Little Marco," and perhaps most infamously, "Crooked Hillary." As president, he's used this against political opponents in Washington, such as "Cryin' Chuck Schumer."
Now's his bringing his famous monikers to the world stage, using his new-found nickname for North Korea's Kim Jong Un — "Rocket Man" — in the halls of the U.N.
It'll be interesting to see how that goes over in the long term. "Rocket Man" might actually be something Kim Jong Un doesn't mind being associated with. Traditional thinking is that North Korea has long had nuclear ambitions in the hope that fear of a strike would ultimately convince America to leave the region, among other concessions.

Three Takeaways From the Trump Speech
NORTH KOREA: Trump threatened to "annihilate" North Korea if the country fails to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons. "'Rocket man' is on a suicide mission, not only for himself but for his regime," the president said, referring to North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un. "It is time for North Korea to realize that denuclearization is its only future."
IRAN: Mr. Trump referred to Iran as an "authoritarian" regime and denounced the 2015 nuclear disarmament agreement between Iran and six world powers, including the U.S.He called it "one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into."
PERILS FACING WORLD: Mr. Trump said the world faced "both immense promise and great peril." He added: "Authority and authoritarian powers seek to collapse the values, the systems and alliances that prevented conflict and tilted the world toward freedom since World War II." He said leaders must decide “whether we lift the world to new heights or let it fall into valley of disrepair.”

Trump: 'I Said What I Had to Say'
Joshua Jamerson
Mr. Trump ended his speech by driving home his “America First” pledge to the world’s leaders, telling them that he is “renewing our commitment to the first duty of every government: the duty of our citizens.” And he said other nations should follow his lead in a “rebirth in devotion” to each country’s own prosperity.
The president closed out with: "God bless the nations of the world, and God bless the United States."
The most striking part of the speech was his tough talk on North Korea, in which he referred to Kim Jong Un as "Rocket Man" from the chamber of the U.N., and threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea. He also heaped criticism and scorn on the regimes running Venezuela and Iran.
“I said what I had to say,” the president told reporters after his speech.
