Case Shiller no podra evitar que todos los ojos sigan en Europa.
Nadie espera nada de nada de la cumbre de Europa. Espana y Cyprus pidieron rescate oficialmente hoy dia. Europa en un dia se fue de tres rescates a cinco.
Tomorrow’s Tape: Case-Shiller Can’t Take Focus Off Europe
By Paul Vigna
Economics:
Are we going to have to do this all week? By now, just about nobody expects anything to come out of this week’s EU summit. That’s a problem because the European crisis is threatening to boil over. Two nations officially requested bailouts today, Spain and Cyprus, and yes, they were expected, and yes, Cyprus is relatively speaking tiny. Still, by the official tally, Europe went from three bailouts to five today. You’d think that would light a fire under the eurocrats.
Meanwhile, here in the U.S., there some second-tier data on the calendar, and only a few earnings reports, so Europe, for better or worse, will probably continue to call the tune.
On tap:
April S&P Case Shiller home prices index (9 a.m.): 20-city index seen falling 2.4%
June Consumer Confidence (10:00): seen falling to 63.0 from 64.9
June Richmond Fed manufacturing survey (10:00): Two of the three regional Fed surveys so far, from the New York and Philly branches, have been bad. The Dallas Fed survey Monday was positive, so this one will be watched to see which way it tips the scales.
Earnings:
Sealy, H&R Block, LDK Solar
